What is Post Abortion Trauma?

Women experience strong negative emotions after abortion. Sometimes this occurs within days and sometimes it happens after many years. This psychological response is known as Post-Abortion Trauma (PAT). Several factors that increase the risk of Post-Abortion Trauma include: the woman's age, the abortion circumstances, the stage of pregnancy at which the abortion occurs, and the woman's religious beliefs. Common emotions after abortion can happen immediately or years afterwards.

How do I know if I have Post Abortion Trauma?

There is HOPE!
If you suffer from any of these symptoms, please know that THERE IS HOPE! At Davie Pregnancy Care Center, we believe that spiritual healing is just as important, if not more so, that the physical healing after an abortion. There is peace waiting for you. Lamentations 3:25 says, “The Lord is good to those whose hope is in Him, to the one who seeks Him.” You can seek Him by attending Forgiven and Set Free. Many women who have attended this group can attest to the Lord’s goodness. He showed them how He forgives them, loves them unconditionally, and bears the burden of abortion for them. Jesus will do it for you too. This is the only means by which genuine and permanent healing can take place. No, you do not need to be “religious” to attend Forgiven and Set Free. You just need to have the desire for healing, and be willing to open your heart and mind to receive the healing God is offering you.
If you have experienced an abortion, please call us for support options and healing.
If you are considering abortion, you have a right to know about these risks.
